After being orphaned and sent to a mental institution for several years, Anirudh (Nana Patekar) is thrust back into society after 20 years of treatment. En route to his childhood home of Mumbai, he falls for the beautiful Sunita (Manisha Koirala), a complicated woman with troubles of her own. Anirudh struggles to make a new life for himself in the city despite his mental illness.
